Hi Piera, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
For me, time expands in liminal spaces—when I’m inside a container that allows the senses to awaken and unfold without urgency.
When atmosphere or environment accumulates and signals safety in the body – a place where there are no energetic demands, and the simple invitation to being fully present is received.
In these moments, my inner voice becomes clear and bright — an invitation to serene awareness.

Piera, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve been immersed in creative expression for as long as I can remember. Since early childhood, I was drawn to the arts—singing, dancing, drawing, painting, acting, and writing songs on guitar and piano. At seven, I was invited to sing on a children’s album, and even at that young age, something about being in the studio left a lasting impression. But I didn’t take it too seriously at the time—I was also a competitive gymnast training for the Junior Olympics and a strong student. With so many interests, it was hard to know which path to follow.

Hi Piera, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Yes, and thank you again for the opportunity to share a bit of my journey. For me it all began in childhood…as many of our stories often do..those formative years can shape us in profound ways when we don’t yet have a self-concept or think so much about the future. We are simply existing, playing and exploring the world around us…and in many ways our true nature is most prominently on display before we start learning “the rules” of being.

PIERA are an American electronic music duo from Downtown Los Angeles, formed in 2019. The duo consists of Piera Klein and Micah Plissner. Their dark experimental synthpop soundscapes and Klein’s powerful vocals and lyrics have given them a signature sound found in the current electronic genres of EBM, synthwave and darkwave. PIERA has opened for Berlin, The Motels, A Flock of Seagulls and other iconic synthbands, catapulting them into the LA indie spotlight.
