We recently connected with Piera Klein and have shared our conversation below.

Piera, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I’ve been immersed in creative expression for as long as I can remember. Since early childhood, I was drawn to the arts—singing, dancing, drawing, painting, acting, and writing songs on guitar and piano. At seven, I was invited to sing on a children’s album, and even at that young age, something about being in the studio left a lasting impression. But I didn’t take it too seriously at the time—I was also a competitive gymnast training for the Junior Olympics and a strong student. With so many interests, it was hard to know which path to follow.

Hi Piera, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Yes, and thank you again for the opportunity to share a bit of my journey. For me it all began in childhood…as many of our stories often do..those formative years can shape us in profound ways when we don’t yet have a self-concept or think so much about the future. We are simply existing, playing and exploring the world around us…and in many ways our true nature is most prominently on display before we start learning “the rules” of being.

The band’s debut album can best be described as a lovely soundtrack withLos Angeles, Calif. – PIERA – L.A.’s rising modern psychedelic synthpop duo (consisting of members Piera Klein and Micah Plissner) following a string of exhilarating post pandemic shows, brings an audiophile’s feast for the senses with their signature beat-driven cosmic synth-soundscapes combined with Klein’s powerful, entrancing vocal stylings and alluring stage presence.

The band’s debut album can best be described as a lovely soundtrack with
a sinister aesthetic. Micah Plissner’s music production evokes a nostalgia that is somewhat reminiscent of the first releases by bands such as Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails during the 1980s, while Piera Klein’s vocal technique resembles a blend of Debbie Harry-and-Annie Lennox-meets-Nena.
